Tailor-Making Service
Creating your perfect trip
At Inntravel, we book each trip individually and pride ourselves on our high levels of service. It is because of this excellent service, attention to detail and, above all, flexibility that so many people from the USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand choose to book with us – we understand that if you are booking a trip to Europe you need expert advice and a company that will take the time to make sure you are getting exactly the vacation you are looking for.
Choose the length of your trip
Our clients appreciate the freedom to start their hike on the day of the week that they choose and to make their trip as long as they wish. Feel free to add extra nights at any hotel, whether it is a hotel at the start, middle or end of your itinerary.
Combine with other tours
Your Inntravel trip need not be limited to just one walking tour. In the past, we have arranged four hikes back to back in different parts of Italy, or you may like to combine your walking tour with one of our other tours – hikes may be our specialty, but we also offer hotel to hotel cycling tours, weeks in self-catering cottages and villas, horse riding trips and a wide range of hotels both in the country and in some of Europe’s most enticing cities. Feel free to combine tours in different countries – it is easy to ‘jump’ across the border from south-west France into Catalonia in northern Spain, or to combine tours either side of the Alps in Italy, France, Switzerland or Austria, for example. You will find details of our full program on our main site, www.inntravel.co.uk.
Let us know what combinations appeal, and we will be happy to advise you on the feasibility of your plans – or to make suggestions as to the best combinations if you find yourself spoiled for choice. Even if we do not offer what you are looking for, it is worth mentioning it to us – we have close relationships with a wide range of other specialist tour operators such as the very well regarded Great Rail Journeys, all of which are committed to the same high standards of service as we are. We are happy for you to combine an Inntravel trip with one offered by another firm, and similarly with time spent visiting friends or relatives.
Helping you with your travel plans
Our overseas clients tend either to fly into the UK or to fly direct to the country of their chosen walking tour. If you are flying into the UK, we will then take care of your travel between the UK and the start of the hike – most of our clients tend to fly, but we can also arrange travel by Eurostar through the Channel Tunnel. Whether you choose a plane or the railroad, we then organize the onward travel to your first hotel, usually by local railroad services and/or taxi. If you are flying directly to the country in which you are walking, we will be happy to take care of the travel between your arrival airport and the first hotel (again, typically by a combination of railroad and taxi) – please consult us as to the most convenient airport to fly into.
If you are combining different Inntravel tours, we will again be happy to organize your connecting travel if you are traveling by railroad and/or taxi. If you prefer to fly, you will need to book this yourself, though we will advise you as far as possible on the best airports and airlines.
Upgrades
To make your trip truly special, many hotels have a small number of superior rooms, and we will be happy to book these for you at a supplement. Similarly, if you would prefer to travel first class, we are normally able to book first class seats on main rail lines (some local trains only offer standard accommodation), and can book club class seats if we are arranging flights for you from the UK. If you would like to arrange to have flowers or wine waiting for you in your room, please ask.
The next step
If you would like us to tailor-make your trip for you, please contact our overseas specialist, Ginny Leonard, to discuss your plans. We will then provide you with a quotation and, once you are happy with everything, will make the requested reservations. If you have any queries at any stage, from initial planning to packing (or even while on vacation), please do not hesitate to contact Ginny, or get her to call you.
